My name is Peter A Hunter.
I am the author of the book "Breaking the Mould".
I am writing a new Management book but I need help.

A large proportion of problems in industry are caused by management.

We believe that if management could see their destructive effect on their people and on their process’s then we are sure they would think twice about what they do.

We are trying to put together a collection of stories of the worst types of management behaviour and its destructive effects.

By publishing this collection we hope to allow management to see their own behaviour in the mirror and therefore learn from the reflection.

This is where we need your help.

If you have any stories of Bad Management or have heard of any please let us know at BadManagement@BreakingtheMould.co.uk .
At the same time let us know if you would like your name to be used or if you would prefer discretion.
PIease forward this request to any other networks that may be a source stories.

Over the years I have witnessed situations that could have been handled better.
1. A job, is assigned, and an employee is working on it. But the Boss, didn't instruct them one the proper procedure , after several hours the boss walks through discovers the employee doing the job wrong and berates him as if he never had a brain or a place to put one. A simular thing happened to me many years ago. My answer to him after he calmed down was, If I am asked to do a job, an nothing is said as to how to do it , then I have to assume that must be I'm doing it right. If not , then Instructions on how it was to be done should have been made before I started.
I have all so observed that their are some bosses that take the word of a female employee against other employees and trust me there is no way to fix a problem such as that . Cases where she feels that no matter what she does is fine and it doesn't matter to her if a person gets fired or quites their job because of the constant stress she's inflicts on any body that looks cross ways at her.
I've been on both sides of this , I have been a employee and a boss, And one thing that I learned was, you need to be able to teach a new employee , you need to be able to calmly instruct and Employee, when a mistake is made and show them how to rectify it, and you need to give a ( you doing a good job ) We appriciate your good work) when they're doing a good job, or they just saved you a ton of money by catching a problem in time, themsleves. It doesn't always have to be monatary, but it is one of the most impotant things a boss needs to learn, To give credit when and where credit is due,

Well I think the worst case of bad management has to be the presidency of George W. Bush. From the useless war in Iraq to how this nation is in a huge defict and having to borrow loan money from socialist China just to stay afloat is a perfect example.
