Not for most people. Criminals are denied. You usually wait in line longer than dealing with customs. If you drive or walk across this summer, you don't need a passport. You can get by with a drivers license and birth certificate.

I lie in Southern Ontario, about 60 miles west of the Niagara Region, if you travelling by land you have until 2009 to require a passport, you can stroll acrossed the Rainbow bridge and travel between the 2 countrys, and this time of year with the weather being nice it is the best time of year next to the fall.

Both sides have lots to do from the touristy things to malls, restaurants and the usual sightseeing things plus there is the Casino's in both citys, and your a short distance to Buffalo and the Anchor Bar for some Hot wings, my favorite.

You won't need a passport, just a drivers license and maybe a birth certificate..hundreds of Americans come across every day for the casinos etc..
Have a good trip!

Not at all. They just ask for your citizenship, maybe some identification and if you show it they let you go. Going to the other side is what's tougher.
