Are they just part of the street people and how does this reflect on our society we have and are helping 3rd world countries so why are we not taking care of our own Americans?

Giving money to 3rd world countries is political not an act of kindness. The poor in developed countries are virtually voiceless because they want and need the next welfare check. They are swept under the rug like dirt and not givin' a second thought. Social programs can only do so much, most are designed to keep the poor, poor. The people in positions of power have to WANT to make a real difference. Then go through hell and back to make sure it happens. A Hero if you will.
