the whole concept of the iPhone is that it is image based, not text. How are you going to enjoy saying "Stretch image from lower left and upper right corners at the rate of 3 millimeters per second until I stay stop."?
Actually, a voice command phone is much better for the blind, if it will speak what is going on. The iPhone is totally blind-proof - you can't even find the keys to dial it without vision.

Well truly, for $600 I think it should be made out of 18karat gold and packaged in a velvet lined hard case. But in response to your question, no it shouldn't have speech-to-text, some people like me have speech impediments in which when i say 'R' it sounds more like 'L' or 'W' so 'CAR' would come out like 'COW' plus, when you sitting in an airport do you want EVERYONE within five feet of you knowing what your doing '5 A.M. PICKUP SWEETIE BEAR' think about it...

Not possible in such a small unit. Plus that kind of software has'nt been perfected yet.
