In my opinion both rachel and lori K have it going on. Taking cloths off is the easy way out. I compare that to hookers, as again taking cloths off is easier. Just my opinion.

Okay, I have nothing against strippers in general nor have I ever wanted to one. I do have to say that there is no such thing as easy money. For one - you have to let nasty perverts drool over you for your entire shift. As for experience - you obviously haven't got there yourself yet. Have you ever tried to dance on a pole? Not in a club . . . just any pole. Do you know the muscles it takes to even look half coordinated on one? If the men are spending their last dollar on a lap dance that is their own personal issue and has nothing to do with the girls. Have you never conned a man for something before? Ever? Not much difference there and the reason is the same - men are easy!
I am uneducated, and I make a decent living. I am not fortunate to be as lucky as you 9 - 5 girls (where can I get those hours) but I have a respectable job where I get to keep my clothes on. The only reason my life has panned out this way is because someone gave me a chance once.
To all the women who make top dollar without "education or experience" my hat is off to you!!! Keep on rockin!

The body is a beautiful thing for one and two why are you judging a person by what they do for a living? Most women who take their clothes have more self-esteem than the ones who wear baggy clothes to hide their bodies. And let's not forget that there are male strippers too. Do you feel the same
way about them? Did you know that there are women along with their husbands who enjoy watching the dancers. I agree with Faerie Whings all the way. And you can't teach someone who is closed minded and set in their ways. I'm a
43year old woman who has been everything from a bartender
to now owning my own business. And by the way it may just come back on the people who judge others.

One thing we can never accomplish is to teach other adults not to value shallow things in life. You were either brought up not to value them, or you think it's a green light on such behavior.
Another thing we can't teach people is to have self-esteem and self-respect.
Many of these women you speak of are yes, in dire consequences without enough money to provide a decent home for their children. Working at wal-mart for 8$ an hour is simply not an option, and they have no higher education.
I don't believe they have anger issues towards men at all. Quite the opposite, I believe that these type of women base their self-worth on what men think of them, because again, they have no higher education and nothing to be proud of, hence no self-esteem or self-respect.
And then there are those that simply embrace that culture. They see nothing wrong with it because they take the subject matter far more lightly than do you or I. They were not brought up in traditional moral families, or they have rejected the philosophy.
None of these men are illusioned into believing that the women really care about them. They do believe that the women are enjoying themselves, and some are, because again, it is about getting attention the only way that they know how. Unless those women are also working as prostitutes, the men know that it is just a drunken fantasy, and nothing more.
You can't teach shame, morality, or decency to an adult. For those that have a different cultural view on the whole thing, I often wonder if it comes back to bite them later, and I assume it does, having witnessed it first hand in a few cases.

I think these women have very low self esteem and self respect. I would never degrade myself in this way, my self respect is worth more than anything a man could pay me. They would like us to think that they are laughing all the way to the bank but really I think these women are very sad and have some real issues. They need to feel attractive and they crave the attention they get and unfortunately these women will always be able to get these tacky jobs because men will always want to look at naked women. You shouldn't envy these women for earning an easy buck cause really it's not that easy to sell your soul and you could do it to if you wanted to. Just remember they are rarely happy doing this kind of work, sometimes it's the only work they can get if they have a poor education and want money and of course they are going to defend it as it's their life but I bet you deep down they hate what they do.

"Just watch the replies I get from this question!" By that statement alone I know your not looking for real answers. You posted this to be argumentative, and to try to make people who disagree with you look bad.
Well, I'll take the bait and I will disagree with you. And I will tell you why.
My mother worked as a topless dancer in the mid 70's. My mother left her first husband when he went to go load his shot gun to kill her. She grabbed her son and a trunk and left very quickly, never to return. She moved in with a friend (gay male) to help cover living costs. She worked as a nurse on the night shift (it made more money than other shifts), and took extra shifts when she could. Child support was ordered, but her Ex-husband NEVER paid, and it wasn't enforced in those days. Still she was not keeping her (and her son's) head above water.
She got a second job at a local boobies bar. (better than going on welfare) She made more money in one night than she could as a nurse in one week. She had been working at the bar for 2-3 weeks when a gentleman walked in the club who hitched up his pants sat down at the bar, ordered a scotch (which his sipped all night), and tipped ALL the ladies on duty that night. She walked up to him and said she got off work at two and if he would like to get a cup of coffee at the diner down the road she would be there. That was late Oct. 75. She quit her dancing job in Jan. 76. They were married Feb. 76. I was born in July of 77. They are still happily married to this day.
My mother eventually (years after she married my Dad) did get her Ex-husband to pay child support. When he remarried his child support payments were made out and signed by his new wife. My mother has always said that woman was a saint.
So that is my mother's story and how I came into this world. My mother is one of the greatest women I know. I love her and respect her more than anyone else. She is the one who taught me that, "You do what you have to do for the sake of the family. No matter the personal cost to you."

It's the choice they made. You may not agree with what they do but shouldn't you at least respect their choice.
Not every body fits into a nine to five job. Why don't you respect some one who makes different life choices?
I think it's sad that men go to strip joints and such but they choose to go there.
strippers
Hookers
porn stars
Girls gone wild videos
We could go on and on....but if they want to do these things who are we to say no. Do you think only well educated women are allowed to make life choices?

Ok, I just watched a documentary on this. 1. I don't feel it is morally right to sell your body for money or anything else. 2. I am not involved in this industry.
I think women do it because of the money, and also because they NEED men to want them in order to find their own self worth. I have a friend who thinks it would be "interesting" to be a porn star...she already sleeps around and enjoys getting attention from men and having them spend money on her. Now, these women do not lack depth and intellect, they are just starving for something that is missing in their life.
You might read the lyrics to the Faint's song "Worked Up So Sexual." It has to do with this topic :-)

The majority of people will defend there position all the way from strippers to the big oil company's polluting the earth .Your just picking out one group . I'm sure there has to be people looking at your job and wonder why you do it . If there's a market for something people are going to sell it .If guys and some woman are stupid enough to give money to see a naked body then its there money let them spend it the way they want to . I wouldn't pay to see it there's to many woman that strip for me for nothing but if some woman came along and told me to strip for good chunk of change i wouldn't have to think twice about it and laugh thinking about it all the way to the bank also.

I knew a few people who made their money that way... YEARS ago. For them, it was a job that paid them a lot of money for very little time. These were educated women with families and lives far beyond their jobs. Unfortunately, most of their co-workers were not the same. They all seemed to have very similar stories about sexual/physical abuse and drug use. Sad, sad stories...
If a guy is dumb enough to give a woman at a go-go bar his last dollar, then that is his problem. Why don't we blame the alcohol industry for drunk driving accidents and alcoholics? More people suffer because of that than because a guy can't figure out the game.
If I were a woman and able to do it, I probably wouldn't, but who is to say? I can't fault someone for making easy money - legally.

I suppose you consider it morally wrong for a woman to take her clothes off...and you have every right to feel that way. However, some women feel that there is no shame in taking their clothes off...and it is their right to feel that way.
Personally I don't have a problem with what someone does with their own body, it's not my decision, it's not my life. If a girl wants to take it all off and feels comfortable doing it then who are you to tell her she can't do it? As for the men, if they want to spend all their money watching girls dance, then so be it.
I have never taking off my clothes, I am putting myself through school and I have never felt the need to belittle a woman who chooses to do something else to make money. Luckily, women have a choice in this country and so do men...to each there own.
