Do you have a copy of Windows XP disk? If so, reboot your computer, look for the screen that will ask you to press a key (usually F1 or Del) to enter setup.

Go to the Boot option, change the boot order to look to your CD/DVD first. Put in the XP CD then hit F10 to save.

The computer will reboot and look to the CD/DVD first instead of the hard drive. Just follow the prompts, when it get to the point to choose a partition, you will have to delete the existing partition and create another one. When this is done, it will ask you if you want to format the drive. Yes, you do.

Choose full and not Quick, this will reformat the drive wiping out Vista and then start the install of XP.

You will have to re-install the drivers for the motherboard, so make sure you have that cd before starting this process. Good Luck.

Right click your C drive then select format. This will erase everything. Then restart you PC with the XP OS disk and follow the on screen prompts. It also sounds like you would want to do this because your a gamer. If I were you I would purchase a Western Digital Raptor and start out with a fresh drive. This particular drive is a 10000 rpm 16MB cache drive. It is very fast without having to set up a RAID array. Pop that sucker in and reinstall windows XP. Or you could create a second partition and have both OS on the same drive. This will enable you to take advantage of DirectX 10 (when it comes out) and will also allow you to play Halo 2 (which is Vista OS only, "Bastards").

put your windows xp installation disk into your cd-rom drive and boot from it. when it comes to the part about formatting your hard drive, delete the drive which vista is on (should tell you how to do this on screen). and then create a partition out of that deleted one. from there just install windows onto that partition that you just created. this will wipe out windows vista (and everything else you had on that particular section of your hard drive) if you have any reallly important things which you want to keep then you need to make a copy of them on a cd, external hard drive,or something like that.

just insert the bootable installation disk of windows xp and boot your computer from the CD ROM(or any optical drive) drive. Then with in the setup you can delete and recreate the partiion which had vista installed on it or can also make new partitions, or can over ride the exisitng partition and format it for a clean install of windows XP :)
