I don't read the series, but this is drawing attention that Marvel Comics wants. This formula worked so well for DC Comics in the 90's regarding the "Death of Superman" storyline that DC Comics ultimately carried over the idea of replacing the classic characters with newer people in other DC Comic book titles. Sort of a new way to revitalize each character and attract new readers.
Captain American will return someday. Maybe not as quickly as Superman did, then again maybe so, but he will return. When he returns it will be a semi big deal. Fans will have to have that issue just like they had to have this last one and the Superman ones.
I'm sure someone will steal the Captain's body and regenerate it or clone him or do something to bring him back. Maybe they'll bring in a new Captain America, in which case this Captain America wont need to come back, but I highly doubt that.
DC Comics killed off Green Arrow only to replace him, but then resurrect him. They had Green Lantern go insane only to replace him with a younger hipper GL. After a few years the younger newer GL was replaced with his own predecessor.
So Captain America will return someday. Marvel Comics knows what they're doing, maybe not how they want to do it, but no one is losing sleep over at Marvel about this decision.

Yes, it was wrong. There is something that the artists, writers and editors seem to have forgotten: that they have a moral responsibility to their readers not to promote evil (like making money first and foremost over everything else.)
The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. Wickedness will NOT deliver those who are given over unto it...!
If they don't bring Cap back, soon, on their own heads be it.

It's their character they can do what they want. Personally I think they were ruining him during the Civil War anyways so it didn't matter much to me. Marvel is doing so many things wrong in my opinion right now that i barley noticed this.

He's been cloned more than once. Red Skull's body is a clone of Roger's.
Hmm, wasn't there a company that killed off their iconic patriot character years ago? And it came to no one's surprise that he came back too.
