Would this be correct?

to find the area of a triangle it is 1/2 base times height.
Would the following be correct?:

A triangle has a base of 17 feet. Express its area as a function of its height.

Answer: A=17/2*h

Area= (1/2) X 17 X height

Area becomes a function of the height because it becomes the dependent variable.

- independent: the value that we can change
- dependent: the value that is determined by the independent
variable
