It's a Brother MFC-240C. It makes the same sounds as if it is printing, but the paper it feeds out has no ink on it. I just put in a new cartridge, so it's not out of ink. Well, not black, anyway, and I was attempting to print a text document that's only black letters.

I had this problem before, but I don't know what was done to fix it. Someone else fixed it for me. Now I want to do it myself.

Suggestions?

You just need to clean the print head.

One the front panel of your printer there should be a button la labeled "ink"

Hit it and scroll through the options. There should be one for clean the nozzles, once you land on it hit "ok"

You may need to do this a couple times, you should notice some improvement.

Make sure you took the covering off the ink cartridge. Remove it and reinsert.

Good luck.

uninstall and reinstall the CD drivers.
Check up the cartridge and reinstall it.
Update the new drivers from the net.
