Why did they have to kill the guy? To increase comics sales? They did try to kill Superman sometime ago. So what's new? But still, what a bummer.

Although I don't read Captain America I can tell that no one popular ever stays dead in the comic book world, especially when that character is a moneymaker. They brought back Jason Todd from the grave, the second Robin, and his death was one of the most realistic elements that was added to the Batman comics.

Captain America has been in and out of the comics over the years while Superman was always a part of comic book reading. This is going back to the first issue of Action Comics. Granted the Death of Superman kept Clark Kent out of the comics, but we knew beforehand he would return, just not right away.

Captain American will return someday. Maybe not as quickly as Superman did, then again maybe so, but he will return. When he returns it will be a semi big deal. Fans will have to have that issue, just like they had to have this last one and the Superman ones.

Again, I don't read the series, but from what I've heard it was done in a realistic manner which should attract a lot of attention....attention Marvel Comics wants.

I'm sure someone will steal his body and regenerate it or clone him or do something to bring back a Captain America. Maybe they'll bring in a new Captain America, in which case this Captain America wont need to come back, but I highly doubt that. DC Comics did that with Green Arrow and they resurrected him. They had Green Lantern go insane only to replace him with a younger hipper GL, Kyle Rayner. Now, Kyle Rayner is gone and the popular GL is back.

So Captain America will return. It may not be for awhile, or it may not be the same man, but someone will be calling themselves Captain America in the years to come.

Yes, it's sad. I think that perhaps some of the artists and writes are villains at heart, because they know that they can't live up to noble characters like Superman and Captain America, so they try to destroy them. If they can't make them look ridiculous, they will try to write a story where they get killed.

But we need heroes like these. Who will inspire us to take a stand against the forces of evil and selfishness in America to day? (I'l give you a little clue: the people who accuse others the most of being selfish and evil are the ones that really are selfish and evil, not the ones who have been standing for what is right and good all along.)

I hope they bring Cap back, soon.

i have read the one when captain America dies
and if you read all the marvel civil war comics you will see why he died
Captain America only died in the civil war comics in all the other comics that are not in civil war he is not dead
he is alive in the Captain America comics that don't take place in the civil war
