This article by the onion is hilarious I think. It's totally true which completely proves the point. By the way I am Christian and I do believe in creationism, but using evolution as the means, just like the bible says.

Definitely do not find "intelligent falling" to be true, just sarcastic and hilarious.

Here's the funniest part:

"Let's take a look at the evidence," said ECFR senior fellow Gregory Lunsden."In Matthew 15:14, Jesus says, 'And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.' He says nothing about some gravity making them fall—just that they will fall. Then, in Job 5:7, we read, 'But mankind is born to trouble, as surely as sparks fly upwards.' If gravity is pulling everything down, why do the sparks fly upwards with great surety? This clearly indicates that a conscious intelligence governs all falling."

If gravity is pulling everything down, then which way is "down" when you are in space half way between the Earth and the Moon? Don't sparks fly downward, too? What do either of these to verses have to do with science? Is there anything scientific about the verses at all?

I really don't see a queation here - just a pretext for a debate.

The original premise of science was to disprove the church. Science eveolved from an underground movement started to disprove the oh so many ridiculous notions of the many churchs. Some fine examples are; that the Earth is the center of the universe and everything revolves around it. Also, the Earth is flat and you will fall over the edge. How about, the Earth is only 5,000 years old?

Gravity is a theory just like many aspects of science and religion. We don’t necessarily need to completely understand something in order to do great things with. We use gravity to our advantage everyday whether it involves flying planes, parachuting, slowing down satellites destined for orbit around Mars, or speeding-up space probes destined for long-range missions to Saturn and beyond.

Another fine example is electronics. Much of electronics is theory (example electron flow). We do not completely understand it but look what we can do with it. We can build PCs, cell phones, iPods, and even satellites. All are very complex uses of theories.

So, in the end it really doesn’t matter if God is pushing a satellite to Martian orbit or if graviton waves guided by man’s unique understanding of propulsion and mathematics is - the end result is the same.

The best fundimentalist "theory" for gravity I've heard is that sin causes things to be pulled towards the Earth. That the moon stays close to the Earth only because man has inflicted a little sin upon it and other planets stay away from Earth because they have no sin.

Though it doesn't explain why a single man isn't the heaviest thing on Earth.

Interesting read though, the onion.

As best I can tell, that article is a hoax which has been passed around, almost verbatim, for at least two years. As a parody, it's rather well executed. Out of context, it's simply a hoax. If you want to refute that statement, post a reference to the actual organization or the article's presumed source.
