Depends on the type of company - anywhere from nothing (or next to nothing) up to huge amounts of money. Do you need equipment? Legal and accounting advice? A space to rent, or can you run your business out of your home? Any employees, or just you? Any legal filing requirements to get started?
John-Ambrose is being very optimistic that you could open an Internet Cafe for $100.

That depends upon what your asking..are you asking how much does it cost to file the paperwork to start a company? Well that's going to depend upon your state and what kind of company your going to start. Do a search on "Starting a business in ______" and go from there. Look at the Small Business Association's website and find an office near you, they can help and have lots of helpful information, and can even help with start-up loans.
Now, if your asking about how much does it cost to start a business besides that it is going to vary depending upon the business your looking at starting. Some businesses require that you invest a lot into hardware and facilities to get off the ground while others require very little to start and can be run out of your home. Sorry but it all depends on that, now the Small Business Association is a good place to look for help on that, plus try looking at your local bookstore for help on Starting and Running a Business.

If the company is one that is developing space travel to Jupiter, you'd need billions of dollars.
If the company sells lemonade from the top of a cardboard box on the corner, a couple of buck should do it.

depends on the type of company you want to start.for example if you want to start an internet cafe then you will need about $100 .you can start by first buying 1 computer and you type and print for students after a while you can buy some more connect a broadband and then you are on track!
