well people around here, they like rap a lot... but i love rock music and some of my friends do too.... so your choice... which one is better?

Rock, but there are plenty of good rock bands with obvious rap/hip-hop influence. Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park are two that come to mind.
I incorrectly predicted the demise of Rap many years ago, and I really don't know what keeps it going. How many artists can rap about money, cars, women, or killing people before the public gets tired of it?
