Not exactly. In a group you have peers and peer pressure. The wild thoughts and actions already have the approval of the group. Most evil is caused by a group of people who know they are right. They really feel they are doing what is right.

A person alone is just basically socially unfit and mentally ill in some form.
This is how I see it anyway.

I think that an individual could commit violence spontaneously or act out pent up emotions. A group, like the radical terrorists are motivated by Religious, cultural and political ideology. They have selected targets and estimated results. No matter how awkward the end results they plan and scheme sometimes for years.

No, there are a million reasons why a person would commit a violent. As far as terrorism goes, how long would it take one of us to become a terrorist after watching our family being killed be foreign invaders. Where they live, they are not terrorists but heroes. Terrorists is what American revolutionists were called. It is all in your perspective. Learn about peoples from other places, motivations, beliefs and history before judging them.

One is selfish and only for the gratification of the one! One is for a cuase, no matter how disoriented and warped. It has a purpose in mind with specific goals.

they are different groups follow a mob mentality individuals usually strike for personal reasons not on behalf of others (usuallly)
