We agree to taxes to be taken out of our paychecks so these sport figures will have wonderful staduiums to play in and where we can go watch. But we'd rather our neighbors and fellow americans die b/c they don't healthcare than pay a tax so they can have healthcare too? What happened to for the people by the people and what this country was founded on. Something needs to be done. This country is out of control when it comes to healthcare. What can we do? Anything? Do you think it's too late for us? Do you think it would take a revolution?

Wow "Violation Notice" those are some harsh words about your fellow americans. "they deserve to die" and why is that? What would you do if you had to have a major surgery and your heathcare provider dropped you and then you couldn't pay your bills and then you lost your job. You would die. But you don't deserve to die. This is what is happening. It's scary very scary indeed. Something needs to happen. WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER.

I'm not stereotyping anyone. I'm talking about the majority of the people. If it werent' for the majority of people feeling this way we would not be in the place that we are in right now. WE AMERICANS would be telling the govenment that we are important and take care of us. Rather than our Government telling us how will be there are there for us. That's what are founding fathers were all about. This goes for both Dems and Reps. This is about the people coming together to help one another that feeling of brotherhood and sticking together as one. We never know when it will be one of us that is out of a job or laying there dying because our ins. comany won't pay for our treatments. It's very scary.

Jennifer C - You said it girl. It's very sad, and to be honest I'm very scared indeed. I keep uping my 401k contributions because of my fear of being a senior. It's crazy!

I'm not ONLY TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE JOBS. Get educated on this. This has more to do with us who have jobs and insurance but are denied treatment and die b/c the Dr. bonus is based on the denial rate.

This pretty much sums it up....
"when people fear their government, there is tyranny. when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
-thomas jefferson

The goernment needs to fear us and we need to take our country back and fight for what we need not the money that they want.

I think America is too greedy to risk revolt. Maybe they will vote in a different direction and put us all at ease. The world has been living in fear since Bush was elected, its time for some harmony, but only if the people grant it.

Without the economic ability to take taxes and build a stadium there would not be the financial resources to help the people that the government does. How many tax paying individuals does that stadium employ, beside the high paying GM, owner and players? As far as healthcare, it is not a perfect system, but is being put on a waiting list for a major surgery a good option? The rich in those countries have better health care than the lower classes. It is the same system with a different front.

With all the media mainly centering around entertainment values i would believe we are far past the point of innocence and having true compassion for our neighbor. People only think about themselves these days and it all stems from the attitude of society. Nothing will change. People think that it is impossible to live without entertainment. I live in south Florida, When the hurricanes hit and we ALL lose power most people complain about not having Internet or TV (after air conditioning of course). It's ridiculous, but true what you say. We will never change. And never learn.

You need to look at it deeper than that. i have lived in 2 countries with a national health care system, and taxes are sky high (20-25%) on everything you consume, which results in a lower consumption of goods, which then results in higher unemployement. Plus the health care was not that good.

I am all for health care for people, but bleeding hearts need to take a basic econ course first before they try and fix the world or we all go down.

I don't know where you are getting your information from but the United States of America was the top country in the world for giving to charities around the world last year. To top it off we are on pace to be number one again.

personally i'd like to say shut the hell up and try some home remedies i'm not in the mood to pay extra taxes so you can be pumped full of placebos. and i was reading an article by this guy who spends alot of his time in japan visiting his in-laws and how funny it is that because of socialized health care system the're like 20yrs behind in medicine but the're like 10-15yrs ahead in electronics and robotics.

I think there is enough going on here. Let's not exacerbate the problem by causing civil unrest. My personal opinion is this. If you want something, you need to work for it. That's not being selfish.

Maybe go buy your own healthcare so that taxpayers don't have to buy your share?
And yes....I know you'll come back and talk about "unemployed people" who are abusing our welfare system, but I bet if we got rid of welfare totally, those same people would actually GET a job...
