i do that all the time. when some1 says something to me that is supposed to be funny or im bored of the conversation and dont want to entertain it, i put lol! if i really am laughing out loud i'll write lmao!

I have typed "LOL" probably 1000 times and I don't think I have ever been really laughing out loud. Ever.

Yer , this is basic phycology , when someone has a repeat encounter with a word then it becomes "wedged" into there brain and without know it randomly comes out , abit like sperm... Lol jks

Yes. Its a good thing to say when whoever ur talking to said something so stupid or pointless, that actually, thats the only decen t way to respond without verbally abusing them for saying something stupid in the first place!

well I normally I only use "lol" unless I'm laughing but Like if I'm talking to my friends online and they think something is funny then I'll use "lol" so I wont hurt their feelings!

ya but just because im not laughing out loud doesnt mean im dont think its amusing or im not smiling. im just laughing im my mind. lol is just an expression that means you think something is funny.
