I don't really like it. Only because Tommy REALLY is a nickname. I would say Thomas Jake, but since you think that's too plain, why do you think Tommy isn't as well? Not trying to be mean, hon, I'm just saying that most people named Thomas go by the nickname Tom or Tommy, so it's just a popular or 'plain'.
What about Tomas or Thomason?

I like it but how about Thomas Jake and then you can call him Tommy for short? Just a thought but I like the name very normal its not out there like some of those other names. Good Luck!

I'd like the more formal name Thomas Jacob better and call him Tommy Jake as a nickname.

Thomas Jake or Jake Thomas. I had a boyfriend once whose legal name was Tommy and he always wished his mother had named him Thomas. He just went by Tom instead.

I like the name Tommy, but I don't much care for Jake.
Although Tommy is sweet, it'd be better to call a pet Tommy. A fully grown man called Tommy? It's just a little bit...weird sounding. =/

personally, i dont really like tommy. jake is cute, though, and i like it as a middle name, because as a first name i think its too common. what about oliver jake?
