If you are talking about yahoo answers then all you have to do is simply stop asking and answering questions.

I am assuming you mean your membership to yahoo answers, I kind of looked around to see how you cancel your membership, but I didn't find anything. But hopefully, this will at least let others know, what you want to quit. Hopefully someone else will know. Good luck!

Without knowing what "this thing" is, it is virtually impossible to advise one on how to quit it. Your best bet, if it's an item, is to get rid of it. You call the thing and it, so presumably it's not a person.
