in the last few games their offense has picked up, but last year at this point beltran, delgado, and wright all had like 70 rbis and this year they only have like 45 each. their winning percentage is below 600, they only have one hitter whose hitting above 300 (reyes, who's really overrated), they have not hit one grand slam this year. theyre risp stats are atrocious. they get slaughtered like flies by the braves everytime they play each other. delgado has not been hitting since april 1st. i'm a mets fan, but really!

Indeed, what sort of Met fan considers Reyes overrated??? They're not going to match last year's totals. The playing field is tougher this year for them. As my dad says, last year was the year. They're still good and they'll make the playoffs. As for the struggles against Atlanta, with the exception of last year, they've ALWAYS struggled against Atlanta. However, if the Braves were to catch the Mets in the division, they would have done it by now. They're not going to catch them. Delgado might not come around but look for Wright and Beltran to really pick it up in the second half.

Your making them out to be awful even though those stats are decent. Beltran, Wright, Delgado are easily in the top 20 RBI catagory, And not to mention their shortstop (Jose Reyes) is leading the league in stolen bases and is probably the fastest man in baseball.

What i am trying to say is all teams get in slumps, the Mets are doing fine this year and will do good in postseason. For example look at the Yankees, they have been in a horrible slump and still people have hope and talk about them making a wildcard. Not one team this season hasn't gone through a slump, its impossible.

The FACT is they lead their division and just took three straight from their closest rival, the Phillies!! The FACT is, a team's success cannot be measured by last year's stats. This change from year to year. Be happy they are doing as well as they are!! This from a Red Sox fan.

Chow!!

What is scary is the fact that they have held onto first place despite sub-par performances from many key players. If those guys turn it around, look out.

The mets are horrible. Their big names have not done well untill this series against the Phillies. The braves will catch the mets and take the division.

A couple of their players might now be doing as well as they should be but that doesn't mean the whole team hasn't.
