RIDE is a bit anal and obsessed with safety and testing products. The articles are bit dull.

BIKE slightly better overall OK read.

MCN is paranoid but useful for classifieds and have started a site called getintobiking for novices, access it from motorcyclenews.com

Performance Bike, used to be OK, bit old hat now.

All these are owned by EMAP publishing so articles can be similar and road tests you have to remember manufacturers pay lots of money for advertising so there is possibility of not totally unbiased editorial.

Two Wheels Only, smaller more independent publisher, i have a sub for this, find it quite well written and balanced.
Good new and used bike guide in back also.

If you want to get into sports bikes then Superbike, small independent publisher, not PC at all, if offended by (female) nudity don't buy. Their articles are witty and funny though.

Fast Bikes used to be excellent when Colin Schiller ran it , independent , never carried bike manufacturer ads, only products, so when they road tested was completely unbiased and said if a bike was crap then it really was.
Now based in essex it's a shadow of it's former glory, for MAX power types who ride bikes instead of hot hatches.

RPM no more issues at moment, again ran by Colin Schiller, truly independent and said what they think of everything.

Again, depends what sort of bike you want, if trailies/dual sports/commuters then any of the above apart from performance bike/fast bikes/superbike.

Sports bikes, r1's, r6's, cbr600rr, fireblades, etc. then 2 wheels or superbike really.

Welcome to the brotherhood, you won't regret it , once you have the taste for riding you'll love it.

Ride or bike probably. I generally prefer Motorcycle, sport and leisure but it's not to everyone's taste. Next I go for Bike.

The only thing to do is have a look at a few different mags and decide for yourself, because here you will get so many biased answers.

I'd go with RiDE. It has a broad range of practical and inspirational stuff. however, Bike is also a good read. Motor Cycle News (MCN) can be a bit paranoid - which sells (weekly) papers; but it does have useful results and buy-and-sell sections.

If your just getting into bikes then I would suggest RiDE. It is very informative and covers everything you need to know about bikes. MCN (weekly) is also good for the latest up to date stories.

If you can get hold of one Riders Digest, it is a fantastic read.
You get them free of charge at some motorcycle places but can subscribe for about £10.00 per year.

BIKE, Ride, MCN (weekly) and what bike tend to cover all types of bike whereas PB,Fast bikes,Superbike tend to focus on race style bikes. Superbike does have rather a tasty centrefold with her baps out though so its forgiven.

TWO, but it was just bought out by a publishing giant, so it's quality might begin to suffer.
