Lefties don't play any position in the infield except 1st base. Being a shortstop, 2nd basemen, or 3rd basemen makes it so that a lefty has to turn before he throws unlike a righty. Turning before you have to throw makes you more inaccurate and gives the batter more time to go down the line which could lead to more infield singles. A lefty only plays 1B in the infield.

yeah, righties are much more common but there are lefties on the left side of the infield
