Yes to a certain extent. What are you doing buying a car or ..........? Also depends on what you are doing as to how it effects yours. Until you get his/her credit in order I would suggest keeping things as separate as possible. Good Luck

Here is the deal. Don't worry about your partner’s credit affecting yours. It's not a disease that spreads and is contagious like some of the other people on her would insinuate. it is true that you might need your spouse to co sign on something if your credit/income doesn't meet the requirements of the lender. This would affect you chances of getting approved for that particular loan. Think of it this way...you wouldn't have been able to get that particular loan alone anyways, so he/she didn't really hurt you. I have bought several houses and cars without my wife's name on anything. I have also done mortgages for a living and sold cars so I have seen many credit reports. But the question is, "does it mess up your credit". The answer is NO! Your credit is linked to your SS# not you spouses. Each person has their own individual score.

not directly, but yes it can. anytime you try to buy anything together, house, car.. it will affect the terms of the loan that you get. Also, if he does not pay his bills you will become responsible to pay them since you are the spouse

If you go to buy something on any consequence, such as a house, that requires both signatures, yes it does! They take both of your salaries, and previous credit, into consideration. If your partner's is bad, it will limit your ability to buy!
