Do you know why the original Enterprise ship was not up for bids on the recent auction of Star Trek auction? The second ship was sold as Star Trek II as well as the Next Generation and Voyager. Why was the original ship not up for bids?

The Enterprise used in the Original Series is on display in the gift shop of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. I have a picture of one of my friends standing in front of it, if you want more proof.

Yep, Camilyarde is correct. It's sort of considered a national entertainment treasure, like Judy Garland's ruby slippers from "The Wizard Of Oz". I always preferred the movie model Enterprise, (from ST 1-6), anyhow. Looks more futuristic and less 60's than the 'ol "satellite dish deflector" Enterprise.
