I don't people are afraid of death. I think they're afraid of how they're going to die and the fact that they don't know when it's gonna happen.

Well, apart from the survival instincts, it is the consolidated effect of unfulfilled desires, expectations, that causes the fear..... Some people, when their desire is met, or they are too happy, joyous, when something happens that gives them an overwhelming joy, satisfaction, they exclaim " Oh, now it does not matter if death occurs to me this moment" (this declaration might be valid only for a while, till some other 'worry' catches up !)
And there are yet some others, who have the fear of the unknown (they are yet to taste death, the feel of it), and have a very valid reason - death could be the most painful of all the sufferings that can happen to a human.

With an average of 1 child per family, the continuation of the species is not an "instinct". Our bodies are capable of producing far more offspring that what we currently do and what we have historically done.
The fear of death is self-created. You don't have the responsibility to keep the species going despite what you've been told. People make themselves afraid of all sorts of things through their thinking, this is no different.

I have seen several people die....and I have observed that they did not seem afraid ....it seemed that for some time they had been in communication with ??? and that had given them a feeling of acceptance, and confidence to go on with it .... it is a transition, to the best of my understanding, and the willingness to make that transition must be prompted by an agreement that what is to come is acceptable to the person dying....
I think that people fear dying because they never yet have come to the point reached by those who are dying and in communication with ??? .... in other words, they are too young yet to need to settle down and "discuss" it ......
If people who are still busy here in this dimension would take time to ask for information about the process, I think it would ease off the fears ... certainly I have .... I at one time would panic at just the mention of death .... and finally a little grace befell me, and I am easier about it all...
thank you for your question....it was good just to get this all down....hope it is helpful to someone somewhere ...
peace & love

Dear, fear is there where is hope or aspects .Because our world is a world of illusion ,so it is the matter of knowledge .
We know the truth ,we well know about the bad work ,yet we do, we have all those examples yet we acts according to the wish of senses.you should think that what s type of work ,or whats type of contribution can make you a great person .first read, and feel about the air, this is very powerful and an obstract elements,so think about its control, impact, and effect, than you will never fear about death.

Because most people enjoy living and want to hold on to things that they have in this current state of existence. Death takes that all away from them. And death is an inevitability. What follows this inevitabilty is the realm of the great unknown, which gives people all the more reason to fear it.

Alienation from nature. Death becomes an increasingly foreign concept when people go their entire lives without touching a single bolus of what they consume while it's still alive. Meat is a foam plastic plate with something red covered by clear plastic wrap.
This alienation manifests itself in a matrix of preoccupations for extension of life at any cost, avoidance of anything that might shorten life.
Cowardice ceases being an indictment and becomes a virtue, a way of life.

Death is a certainty. That's why we fear it. It's something beyond our control & could come for us at any moment. It is because we value our lives that we don't want to lose them.
If you like scary movies, watch the Final Destination series. I've only seen the first two. I thought they were very well done. Interesting idea about death's design...Scary because it shows how random & quick & cruel death can be. You never see it coming.

It natural. If we wouldn't fear death, the chance of extinktion would very large and then we couldn't ask ourself this question. Its what survives exists, therefor "why do we have the urge to survive?" is saying twice the same thing. I do not fear death, I only fear the form it will be in.

Death is not a + sign in the equation of life. Death is - sign. Death is the LOSS of life. I think most of us have experienced a loss of some kind at one time or another. Even the loss of a wallet has to be feared!
Death may be a welcome event if life has turned to be pure suffering, with no hope of recovering.
Anything that we consider a value engenders fear of losing it.
The value that gives value to all other values is LIFE!

its not death itself that makes us scared. its the FEAR of death.. its a common mistake people make.
we are often terrorized by the thought of not being able to do all the things we can by being alive and having this body. the fear of having unfulfilled desired is a major cause for dear of death
also those of us with family have the attachment . and its the attachment that makes us petrified at the thought of going to the next level. the love we feel for them. the thought of not being able to hold your loved one in your arms, play with the kids or make love to your beloved and more. these thoughts weigh heavy on us. we worry about things like, who will take care of our family/ business etc when we aarent there anymore?
the thought of death becomes easy if we accept it not as a final destination but as the end of this journey and start of another.
