I realise it probably wouldn't be possible to monitor every single mosque, but there are some known to be connected to radical Islamic groups. What do you think?

You shouldn't even have to ask that question ,there shouldn't be any mosques in this country . If Muslims want to practise their religion let them go back to the dust bowl from whence they came.If they want Sharia law , likewise . I for one am fed up with our spineless government bending over backwards to appease these people . If they don't like our customs why on earth are they living here .Someone in the Muslim community must know the people that are planning these atrocities against us but nothing is ever said . Perhaps if all the extended families of this scum were rounded up and deported back to their hovels it might possibly make this sub human trash think twice before trying to kill us.

The mosques and other locales like video- and book stores are already profiled. It became official recently and was announced by the EU. New rules were set like an imam preaching there has to be able to speak the language of the host country and some other rules.

Certain mosques in the UK where the police or security people knew that there was hatred and inflammatory "stuff" preached..... have been bugged. Some places have been shut down.

Public tolerance and political correctness cannot go together. Political correctness has to be curtailed, limited.... when it is the very (democratic) freedoms that Muslims are enjoying and then using same to undermine the system so they can change it to fit their agenda, philosophy.

As we know, Islam allows its followers to use all means including any violence towards the unbelievers to do that. One just has to look at their writings, books. As for the perpetrators of the violence to further the goals of Islam..... unfortunately the teachings of the Quran are on their side of the hardliners, fundamentalists. They go by the letter and more.

Of course they should - anywhere criminals meet to plan crimes should be watched. I'd say the same if York Minster were the hideout of a gang of child kidnappers.

Having said that, it's only sensible to be led by the intelligence. Most of the Muslims I know hate the violence as much as I do. If we don't rush in mob-handed, but go softly-softly-catchee-monkey, we might get a lot of inside help - this will be more use than anything.

There is, too, a practical problem. Most police are neither Muslim, nor of Asian/Arab appearance. Skin colour apart, they would not know how to behave in a mosque. They'd stick out like a dog's danglies, and the bad lads would realise they were being trailed, and just move on.

On balance it's best to adopt a many-forked approach: some covert surveillance; a lot of cooperation with sensible Imams; good relations with respectable Muslim worshippers; bugging and cameras where possible, in situations where the intelligence suggests something bad is happening.

Our greatest strength (good luck rather) is the tactical and strategic naiveté of the terrorists. I can think (so can we all) of many more effective ways of waging war on the rest of us. My enemy's stupidity is my cleverness - or as good as!

They are. Islamist activities at the Finsbury Park Mosque were monitored closely by the security services.

YES but not all mosques. All suspected mosques could be under surveillance

I see what you are referring to but I have to ask, why bother. The security services have probably got better things to do than monitor ALL the mosques in Britain. We should simply tear them all down, the Muslim's that want to attend them should 'emigrate' to a country that has them.

I would think they are probably watched already.

Our Secret Services are the best, so many attacks have been thwarted by them, most of this information most likely comes from undercover agents, milling around in these Mosques.

i thought they already were.
& agree they should be.
if preaching hate & blaming innocent Brits, seems to be their aim.
i feel sorry for the ones who mean no harm, pray religiously & go about their daily lives, with no ill-feeling for others.

but sadly there are fanatics TRYING to hijack mosques & want Jihad.

you might find the links below interesting & a warning of worse yet to come.
as britain has NOW been put on a watch-list by the Australian Foreign Office, due to the risks to travellers wanting to come here.

Yes they should be. I think its wrong that so many have been build anyway. Churches are open to everyone whatever your faith, why aren't mosques if they have nothing to hid.
