I'm looking to save some money. I'm not looking to go pro, just to play leisurely.

Definitely not recommended.

It's not possible to move the head of a tennis racket with enough speed and accuracy a racquetball in ball in play. The ball can come at you from any of 4 of 5 directions (4 walls plus the ceiling) and can be very close to the floor or wall.

Also, the strings in a tennis racket will be destroyed very quickly by the force of the much harder ball.

And most important...people will laugh at you. :)

Hi, Lauren. You're going to have one problem, maybe two.

The handle of a tennis racquet is longer than the other, so your play might be awkward (or poorer) in the confined space of a racquetball court.

I'm not sure about the other problem, but since the ball in racquetball is much harder and heavier than a tennis ball, it seems like it could damage or break the racquet.

Ask around--it's possible you know somebody who's got an old racquet collecting dust because they lost interest, got busy, or simply aren't as fit as they used to be. Post a flyer at the place where you play, for starters.

And remember--eye protection is a must!
