I have an assignment next week, and I was wondering If i could get some ideas from a few poeple.

In the essay I have to prove that Fate, Destiny and Luck do NOT EXIST in either or both of "Romeo and Juliet" and " A SImple Plan".

Any Contribution will be appreciated.

Thankyou.

Yikes!!! Who did the assigning, ...Hitler? That is a tough one. I'll try to help ....but, shoot that question really bites....

With Romeo & Juliet - You could argue that Romeo's tempermental and moody character could not help but to react in 'that' manner given 'that' situation. There are many subtle hints to this in the play. Sorry, don't have the copy to cite them for you, but they are there. You could also argue that Juliet's character was too wrapped up in her own romantic images of 'love' to be expected to act (or rather, react) in the manner that she did. As Cassius said in the play Julius Caesar, "the fault lies not in the stars .... but in ourselves..." [not an exact quote but you get the idea].

With "A Simple Plan," if it is the movie starring billy bob, you could try this approach; [sorry it's been a while since I've seen the movie], The scheming fellow failed to take into account the simple minded fellows reactions to the situation. You could point out that it was this oversight and not the 'fates' or 'destiny' that ultimately brought about the disasterous results.

Geeesh, I sure hope this helps!

Fate, destiny, and luck cannot exist. We make choices, and results are produced. And the same can be said, I think, for either one of those stories.

You've chosen a difficult subject. I recently saw a movie called "Happenstance," in which a small incident led to many other incidents and problems. I don't believe in predetermined fate, luck, or destiny. I think you should base your paper on coincidence. Life happens, to put it politely, and many of life's happenings occur by chance, not because they were predestined.

i think in possibilities, severe and occasional. some issues have a severe threat of occurring, others much less so, yet might desire to take place. i do no longer think of it particularly is supernatural, yet part of the technique that's the organic unfolding of life we call the universe interior of regulations approximately which we are getting to grasp greater each and all of the time. some seek advice from that technique as God, or a God continuum. i'm incredibly Deistic so i'm happy with those words, yet I additionally understand the non-theist who prefers to apply yet another term.

i think all the choices we make result in what our destiny is to become.
