You should become Christian--or he should become Muslim. That way your family starts out with a similar religious standing. Marriage is hard enough without all these obstacles and differences. Religion can determine how you raise your children for example. Do not ignore this.

(In Europe people can marry whomever they want. Different Muslim countries have different laws concerning this situation--I would worry more about those countries, especially your country of origin. There are things on the news where ladies who married non-Muslims have been rejected from their families, etc. You really need to consider this.)

No - but a lot of the Muslims think it is! They believe that a Muslim man can marry a women of the book, meaning the Bible, and therefore this means that they can marry a Jewess and a Christian women, as well as a Muslim, but the reverse does not apply. Good luck! I would not take the risk.

In the UK there is no restrictions. In the Muslim countries u cant marry him unless he adopts Islam.so it depends on u,and Ur background, and where u intend to spend the rest of Ur life.also u mentioned that u don't believe in Islam,if this is true and u will not be pressurized by ur family ,and u think he is the write person, then marry him.

It is not against UK law. However, if Muslims find out, they will be upset. It is against Islamic law for you to marry a non-believer. If you were to travel to an Islamic country and they find out, you can be imprisoned or even executed. I strongly recommend you try to cut your Islamic ties. See about converting to his religion. That will help. If you love him, then marry him. Good luck.

As-salamu alaikum...

Secular law does not have any such prohibitions, however Islam forbids Muslim women from marrying non-Muslims. He must adopt Islam if he wants to marry you.

MY LADY, YOU SAID YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ISLAM, EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE MUSLIM, SO WHY YOU BOTHER YOURSELF BY ASKING ABOUT IF IT IS LEGAL OR NOT, OR PROHIBITED OR NOT, YOU CAN EASILY REVERT TO CHRISTINITY AND MARRY HIM OR BE AS YOU ARE AND MARRY HIM, BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT IAM SO SAD FOR YOU, I EVEN CRIED WHEN I READ YOUR QUESTION, I SWEAR I DID , WHY YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ISLAM, AND I THANK GOD EVERYDAY COZ IAM MUSLIM, WHEN I PRAY THE FIVE PRAYS I THANK GOD, AND WHEN ANYTHING HAPPEN TO ME I THANK GOD.
YOU HAVE A PROBLEM , THAT NOONE TAUGHT YOU WELL ABOUT ISLAM, MAYBE COZ YOU LIVE ABROAD OR MAYBE BECAUSE OF SOMETHING ELSE, BUT IN BOTH SITUATIONS YOU ARE DEAD, YES YOU ARE DEAD, ALL OF US ARE DEAD, BUT WHERE WE WILL GO AFTER DEATH? DO YOU KNOW WHERE?
MY LADY PLEASE ANSWER ME, DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD? HAVE YOU EVER PRAYED TO GOD, OR READ THE QURAN? PLEASE TRY THAT FOR ONE DAY, AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE , BUT DO IT WITH LOVE, GET CLOSE TO GOD, AND GOD WILL SHOW YOU THE WAY.
IAM SO SAD FOR YOU, I DONT KNOW YOU, BUT IAM SO SAD FOR ALL MUSLIMS WHO FORGOT ALLAH , DO YOU SEE EUROPEANS OR OTHER NATIONALITIES WHEN THEY REVERT TO ISLAM, WHY THEY DID THAT? DO YOU KNOW WHY? WHY THE WORLD FIGHT ISLAM? BECAUSE EVERYONE WHI IS NONMUSLIM KNOWS THAT ISLAM IS RIGHT, BUT WHEN THEY DO THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE EVERYDAY REVERT TO ISLAM, AND YOU MY LADY DONT BELIEVE IN ISLAM.
ONE LAST WORD, REMEMBER MY WORDS AND THINK COZ IT WILL BE VERY HARD WHEN YOU DIE, VERY HARD.

no, legally you are not prohibited from marrying a member of another faith. let's set religion aside for a second. you love him? yes. he loves you? yes. then go for it. religion shouldn't get in the way of true love. best of luck to you and i hope you find happiness. i think it's ridiculous for one person to have to adopt another person's faith in order to be married.
