Login to your linksys router.. if you haven't changed anything the address will be http://192.168.1.1

It will ask for a username and password if you haven't changed it just enter admin for the password without a username and it should let you into the router.

From the pages in the router you can set the administrative password and enable wireless security (encryption) I suggest WPA for best security. (Click the Admin tab for system password -- click the "wireless tab" for wireless security settings)

"Best router" is a relative term. Household gateway routers cost from $50 - $150. Business class gateway routers cost from $250 - $850. Asside from the price difference, they also differ in stability, processor speed, functionality, reliability, resistance to hacker attack, etc. While a little red wagon and a 2 ton pick up truck both have 4 wheels and haul material, there is a marked difference between them. It is the same with routers.

You get what you pay for. You should buy one with features that you are likely to use and need.

login to ur router using internet explorer . like http://192.168.0.1 then after login there is a option called WPA key .. check that mark and create a password . this password is use to access ur wireless connection .
