I have never answered a question that I didn't say thank you!..
but few people do that anymore....To me it is a common courtesy, that they have asked my opinion......thank you!
I do have one contact that always says thank you ..Mike

Actually I received several thank-yous yesterday and it was nice. I don't shop that often any more, but yesterday went out for birthday gifts (my daughter's b-day is 4th of July and I have 3 other family birthdays in a 3-week period). The sales people were much friendlier and more polite than I remember in the past, and it certainly was nice.
I was brought up with good manners and use please and thank you all the time, as do my children and grand kids and most of the people I work with. I've noticed that there does seem to be a huge decline in the number of people who use common courtesy, and it's really sad to see it go. Makes the world a darker place.

On Saturday. I had gone over the meet the new neighbor and I brought over a large pitcher of lemonade for her movers. I have to agree with you about less thank you's now, and I make it a priority to make sure I thank for everything! That being said, thank you for this question as it will may make some people think if they say thank you enough.

From a transplant from a DC resident, the last time I was told, "hello", or "thank you" from those from Florida. I decided to move to Florida because of this. One day on the subway in Washington, people seemed to look straight ahead. One woman I saw seemed to be weeping. Everyone seemed to be om a sort of state of nothingness.
In one situation, one man seemed to have a seizure and a few of us came to his aid. He had a $20 bill in his pocket and we all pushed it pack into his pocket. He came to and was OK after this. The came out of it with his mind intact and with his money. He said, "thank you" to us and we were all glad that he was OK.

About 10 minutes ago. Dad said thank you for bringing in the paper. We never forget courtesy, anytime, any place.
