to have affinity with the other person, being there for him in times of trials, remind him of his shortcomings without hesitations and appreciate him whenever he needs it.

Well I think I would consider myself a very good and loyal friend to those I consider my friends, truly my friends......not just pals, or drinking buddy's, or co-worker's, but real friends.
I would never betray their trust, or tell one of their secrets.
I will offer them my unconditional support & loven even if I don't agree with what is going on in their life at that time.
I will drop what I am doing and go to their aid when ever they call me in need of help, wether it is monetary or simply to listen.....
and I will LISTEN often, and really listen, not just pretend to listen.......
and I will think of the "higher good" when it comes to a friend, and be a giver, not just a taker......................
and I think that one other thing really good friends don't do to each other, they don't hold "blow off's" against each other.....like if one can't make the other's party or can't meet for a drink, or doesn't show up for a function, you just don't take it personal, it's just life; at least those are the kind of friends I have and I like.

A good friend sees you as you are. loves you as you are.
A true friend doesn't lie to you to make you feel good about yourself. They tell you if you are being a Bit** or wallowing in self pity. Not to mention if you have a booger hanging out your nose!!!!!!
