FOA: "esteemed colleagues" Oh, you mean like the often-banned shiraz and the always quotable "libssmellbad" formerly "libstalker" ... LMAO -- uh yeah.

They have all said that many many times, when "liberal sissies" were trying to persuade tham that war is not a desirable solution to most problems, nor a desirable ongoing state of affairs for any nation. Of course, it was one of those situational arguments with no roots, just intended to shut up the opposition with a bit of sleight of hand.

I think you're original premise is faulty. For one thing it's too broad. Wars have played a major role in many key changes in the world. War has spurred invention, research, medical advances, economic breakthroughs. However, war is not the only factor in humanity's social relationships, global or local.
