The first thing you need to do, in the morning, is hire a GOOD lawyer! You do not need to try to get a divorce without one. Hire a lawyer, and follow his advice! Good Luck!

I'm going to provide a link to a website that has excellent information regarding California Courts. It has all the steps you need to take to file paperwork and also has most of the forms available on-line. Some are fill-able on-line as well and have instructions on how to fill them out. Also, depending on what county you live in you may want to check with the local courthouse whether they provide any assistance with paperwork. I live in San Bernardino County and at the courthouse I go to they have the Family Law Facilitator's Office that you can go to for all family law forms and great instructions and samples for filling them out. They will also check your paperwork before you file it to make sure you didn't miss anything or make any mistakes.
I wouldn't recommend the lawyer so quickly simply because of how expensive they are. I did all of my paperwork on my own and later down the line had the attorney because of custody issues. When finding an attorney, I sat in on various family law hearings at my court and just watched how the attorneys handled different cases, how they were with the judge, and especially how they were with Minor's counsel in my case because I did not get along with her and I luckily hired an attorney who was almost best friends with her.
Good luck with it all and here is the link...................................
