Go to your local hardware store & get a set of easy-outs. They`re fairly inexpensive, and there are different sizes and types for different screws. They have reverse threads that grip the screw head & back it out of the hole.

Use an "Extractor" which essentially is a kind of bit but it bites into the softer metal of the screw when drilled into the center. It is also drilled inward when the drill in is reverse.
When you turn it forward you extract it.
if you are going to drill it out the conventional way you will need to leave some of the screw metal so you can use a tap to recut the threads of the hole.
I'd start wth the least agressive method and work my way up. Maybe try those sprays they sell " EZ OUT"
Then try heating the metal (not the screw) or perhaps a combination of the two. (the metal will expand upon being heated).
If this fails then move on to extraction by force.

If you mean the hole in which the screw driver sits, you can buy what are called 'Back Outs" or "Easy Outs". Drill a small hole into the head of the screw and the EasyOut goes into the hole, driving the OPPOSITE direction of the screw. As the backout tightens, it begins to remove the screw.

Sometimes you can use reversed spiral drill bits. They are just opposite of the regular ones so they are attempting to loosen as they work. Of course, make sure your drill is also in reverse.

Depends on what the screw is in I would say. You can either drill it out with the same size bit that the hole is or you can try some nifty McGyver way of super glueing something to end of it and twisting it out. :) I suggest the drill...
