Scott Boros seems to think we all want to see a 9 game series. Has he lost his mind? A 7 game one is long enough. If they went to a schedule for the finals like the NBA does, 9 games would last till about Thanksgiving. Boros, you are just looking at the angle to make you more money, think about the good of the game and give up on the idea.

If I am not mistaken, They had to shorten the Series down to seven games. I am a big fan of the movie Eight Men Out... the movie about the 1919 White Sox throwing the World Series. I believe in that movie they played an even 8 game set. Even seven is to long, but just because baseball is not like football, and every team in the Majors can put together a 3 out of 5 stretch, I think that the seven games is the only way they can do it.

I think a 9 game world series would be to long. For the players to compete in 9 games if it goes that far is just hell. Even though some teams came back during the 7 game series yet still lost is one thing, but I think after a long season, the 2 teams just want to put forth their last efforts into a 7 game series. 9 games is insane if you ask me.

The concept is ridiculous!

First of all, the American viewer's attention span is short enough as it is and asking them to stay around for nine games would just aggravate their ASD (attention span disorder) even further to the point of exasperation and hardly anyone would be watching game 9 to see who won the World Series.

Secondly, the games are already practically in November...
imagine the Cubs or White Sox getting into the World Series and having to play in one of those parks in a cold, snowy November day.
Note that the schedule for Game 7 of last year's World Series was for October 29, 2006.

Thirdly, if ANY team that got to a World Series can beat that OTHER team that also got to the World Series four out of seven games...
then they DESERVE the trophy...just as it is now...let's keep it this way.

ridiculous...absolutely ridiculous!

9 games is too long. The things they want to do on those two extra days is a cool idea, but just do it during the normal 7 games.

"If it ain't broke don fix it", I have never been in favor to change for the sake of change. Seven games has worked for many years, why change it?

No thanks, best of 7 is perfect.
