Make sure you place a large piece of cardboard underneath. You need a smooth sliding surface on the snow. Besides cardboard will suck up any collateral blood.

First, if you are really intent on doing this, then take as many precautions as you can. Wear protective gloves and clothing that covers the entire body.

The participants should slide down on a surface that is at least minimally comfortable, like cardboard or thin wood.

They should grab onto the legs of the person ahead (except for the leader, of course).

The hard part is keeping them still. I get good results strapping the children to fence palings. I also find that they slide better if you put them in a plastic bag first.
