I've always liked this one from Steel Magnolias between Dolly Parton and Olympia Dukakis, because it reflects the way that women "pad" their answers about things like shoe size, weight, or any other personal matter. This one refers to shoe size. Dolly Parton notices Olympia Dukasis' shoes, and Dukakis offers to give them to her and asks what size shoe she wears. This conversation follows:
Dolly: "In a good shoe, I wear a size six, but a seven feels so comfortable, I buy a size eight."
Olympia: "They're eight and a half"
Dolly: "Perfect!"
I thought it was well constructed dialogue.
