when u love some body, just introduce her/him, not declaring your love. just friend, tell more about her/him, qualities and family background. let their be some visit in your absence and show the love and affection to the family members and then you will find the way very smooth. if they don't agree, don't see any other person as bride/groom and be firm on not marrying if they don't allow you to marry the chosen one. all the best.

Just tell them the truth what else? After all there is no use hiding the truth from parents as maximum they can say is they don't agree with your choice nothing more they can do for this. If they agree for your choice your case get solved there itself but if they say no just tell that was your choice & you want to marry this person only as you find her suitable match for you & even if they don't agree you will go ahead with this matrimonial alliance legally by getting married before the marriage officer/registrar under the Special Marriage Act,1954 as you fulfill all the necessary conditions regarding age, marital relationship, mental status & prohibited relationship which are required for such marriage & no parents permission is required for such marriage. Just tell them this & see their reaction. Next you'll be writing to me either thanking about this way out or asking me how to proceed for such a marriage if your parents still remain reluctant.

If you are a girl, find a suitable time at which your mother is alone and free, just introduce the matter and sought her help to clear the line through your dad. If you are a boy, put your closest friend (known to your family) to inform the matter to your mother and through her to your father. Because only mother can convince such things to the father in a soft and workable manner.
