Locutus, here's my truth, the one I live. I do a lot of work for "the greatest generation". Did some for a submariner last week. Shook his hand and thanked him for his service. He loves President Bush and blasted Carter, he also mentioned how he hopes the cut and run dems don't get in. I said nothing, he's a customer. I didn't agree with him but that doesn't take away the service he gave our country. I don't agree with Iraq, yet I want the best for our troops. I was born here, in Philly, our first capital. It was President Nixon who showed me not to blindly believe our government but I still love my country. I don't need any special day to think about my country. I watch plenty of the history channel, I know freedom isn't free. I also know when our government is doing things it shouldn't, like Iraq. I think plenty of what came before and what may come next, I wish more people would.

I think I can answer this. My son was 8 when he first looked at our families war wall. The war wall are photos of all the family members who volunteered for military service ( from the civil war to the gulf war). He saw my picture far at the bottom ( not that I deserved to be there in comparison to those other members who had seen far worse action than I did). Ever since that day my son has wanted to join. He’s now 13 and still has the desire to join, but there are patriotic reasons behind his drive and not just a young man wanting to be just like dad. I am very proud of my son not just because he is my son but at an early age he is learned the true value of freedom and the high price we must pay to keep it. Its moving to see how our nations youth have all learned what real sacrifice is. I have faith that when they one day take our place as the new leaders of our country they will continue to hold the idea of freedom very close to their hearts.
