Just squirrely enough to be true. It is illegal to get your elephant drunk in Natchez Mississippi (can't give the poor thing any booze at all!). Seems there was an incident in the 1800's when an elephant had too much beer and laid waste to a lot of the down town area and chased some citizens up trees! (there is a dearth of info as to WHY the elephant was given all this beer--seems like it must have taken a LOT!) There is a urban legend site called "Snopes.com" which lists a bunch of silly laws.

Probably true. I love these stupid old laws. In my state I believe there's one that says you can't eat apple pie without cheese on it! They boggle the mind.

It's also unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor in Denver. That really sucks.
