the phone is ringing, the doorbell is ringing, the water is boiling, the baby is crying... what do you do first? which ones follow?

1 turn the water off it could be dangerous
2 pick up the baby
3 answer the door, if i know them invite them in
4 excuse myself to answer the phone
5 tell the person on the phone i'll ring them back
6 and go back to the person who was at the door

The boiling water is the only hazard, so turn that down first. Babies tend to cry but I don't like to hear it so I'd lift and comfort baby next. The doorbell is probably some freak selling something so I'll just look quickly & say no thanks if it is or if it's someone I know then I'll welcome them in. The phone can be answered by machine if I don't get to it. I'll have a glance to see who's calling & if they're worthy I'll pick up & if it's a 1-800 number I will never answer it even though they continue to call me every single day & don't get the hint that I am never ever going to answer a telemarketing call when I have call display! I'm pretty adept at multi-tasking (Have to be in my job) so I could probably do all of these things almost simultaneously. Water off, baby up, door open, phone cradled against shoulder.

switch off the water, unhook the phone, remove the batteries from the doorbell, get a dummy(pacifier) for the baby and change it, take some food for the baby, go out the back way with the baby and get some air in the park.

Turn off the boiling water! Tend to the baby. Answer the door, if the person is still there. Forget about the telephone; they can leave a message and you can call them back.

2. turn off the h2o
3. Pick up the baby
4. ignore the phone and door
5. rock the baby/feed the baby while trying to forget about the rest of the world.. once calm... go back to hot h2o
6. drink tea and continue on until the next... omg moment

Turn off the burner of the water, grab the baby and answer the door. I never answer my phone anymore...they can leave a message!
