Well when I was 11 years old I met this "Old guy" who hung out at the local game room back home and he was one of the best pool players I have ever met. He taught me how to shoot pool, all the ins and outs. Everyday after school he would meet me there and pay for all the games and teach me how to shoot properly. I played pool with him for almost 7 years almost everyday until I was old enough to drive then it was atleast 3 times a week. When I turned 19 he died of a heart attack. The man was Jimmy Gray he was the mayor of the town for a long time back in his early 40's and I never knew this his wife had died around the time he started hanging out at the game room that him and his wife opened in the early 80's that they sold to someone else in the town. I never knew any of this until after he was gone. But it was so funny because he used to try to convince one of the local bar owners I was of age to be in there and we would shoot pool in tournaments and almost always win when we played in team tourneys. He was a great old guy and the day I found out that he was gone it sucked pretty bad. I quit playing pool for about 2 years after that. I then started shooting pool again in and around in tournaments taking peoples money :) I ended up going to his grave site and noticed that he had this cheap grave stone because the money he left behind to his family they had to pay for the rest of the house he left for them and some outstanding payments on a few vehicles so they wouldnt lose them. So I donated enough money to get him a better tomb stone and that's how I closed out my pool shooting. I shoot every once in a while now but not so much anymore. Kinda hard to shoot pool when you are in iraq ;) But that was my favorite person when I was a child. Other than family of course.

My eldest son (4 years old) is a momma's boy definitely. My second son (15 months old) switches between me and my husband, depending on what he wants at the moment (me if he's sleepy, daddy if he wants to play, me if he's hungry, daddy if he wants to be carried, just a few examples) But if they had a choice, they'd go to Grandpa every time. Whenever we visit my husband's parents, we don't exist and my FIL spends the day being followed by 2 small shadows LOL

My maternal grandparents; they were incredible people. They played a substantial role in helping to raise eight grandchildren. They never raised a hand to us, or their voices either, and yet each of us had an immense amount of love and respect for them. They had strong work ethics and moral values, and so much love and humor. They were a wonderful example to all of us, and we were so blessed to be their grandchildren.

Same here. My Nana was the true meaning of the word Grandmother, baked scones, made jam, knitted, read, played cards, the whole speebang.

When I'm old I will be just like her, gracious and gentle :)

My best friends father. He used to tell me. Wake me up by tapping on my bedroom window at 4AM and we will go fishing. I still think about that. It was 50 years ago.

Aunt Louise. She was the kindest woman ever, even when telling me I wasn't supposed to do something.

my grandfather because I was number l on his list and he never let anyone hurt me or be mean to me as long as he was around. Later on in life, I took care of him and treated him the same way-what goes around comes around!
