If the battery is in good shape and fairly new, you can try turning everything electrical off and shake the battery in the car by pushing on the bumper a couple of times, this will mix the acid in the battery up enough to get the engine to turn over.
This has worked for me more than once.
Good Luck.

If you have no jump leads can you not borrow some from a friend or neighbour?
You have two other options, one is to take the battery out of the car and charge in with an appropriate charger in the house. The other is to buy a new battery.

Get yourself equipped. Either walk or go by bus to your local B&Q or Halfords. Buy a set of jump leads and a battery charger. Go home. Either get a mate or neighbour to gice you a jump,or take the battery off and put it on charge. Wth the gear you are ready if it happens again.. At the end of the day you might need a new battery as well if he one you have now is knackered.

You can buy a battery charger.. but it's a right pain to use imo.
I think it means with a charger you have to take the battery out... then plug charger in to mains power.. and connect it.. then leave it to slowly power up (depends on charger rating)
However be careful with batteries.. explosive gasses can be there, and wear glasses around them too and gloves in case of an acid burst-up. Best to get someone who knows what they are doing.... including best way to attach jump or charger leads.

Time to invest in another battery or a set of jumper cables. Or maybe, a battery charger.
Are you an AAA member? They could get you started.
