They're so tacky. And the risk for infection is high, so much crap gets stuck in the piercing or it rubs against your clothing causing irritation or infections. It's not worth it.
I don't think the pregnancy thing is true however.

I got a belly ring when I was 13. My mom was a little sceptic first, but after a while she wrote a note for the piercer that I can get the piercing. I hope your mom is as understanding as mine if you ask her nicely and promise to take care of the cleaning and stuff. I recommend you should get the piercing in a tattoo & piercing studio and a professional should do it. So do not pierce it yourself or let your friend pierce it! It might get infected.
It doesn't hurt too much.. I believe it costs about 20 dollars. I don't know the prices in the U.S. And don't believe those scary stories about infections and fertility, if you clean the piercing every day and treat it well, everything should be ok! Good luck, hope this helped.

Firstly let me say that I am against body piercing. It smacks of 'attention seeking' or insecurity and looks totally un-natural. However if you must have it done be prepared for a little pain and possible infection. If your Mom says don't do it them don't. Why would you want to cause upset to your parent? If you do go ahead and get an infection it will not stop you having children in the future but severe blood poisoning could cause damage to your body.

ok firstly, it depends on how sensitive you are on whether it hurts or not, but if you are scared then it is probably going to hurt more because you'll be tense. Cost depends on where you go, but if you do decide to get it done it's worth paying more because the cheap places aren't always very hygienic. It really isn't worth arguing with your mum about a small ring that goes through your navel, so if she says no, i would listen to her, because you can always get it done later, when she isn't in charge of you if you still want it then, And finally, that thing about the infection is not true at all! Your belly button and your uterus are very different, but if you do get pregnant, the skin on your belly can split as your tummy grows (that's what my mum said and she used to be a midwife). madi x

Mine cost around $50 if I remembered right.
As for pain, I have a tolerance for it. I don't think the needle hurt much, the only discomfort was when the woman put the clamp on my belly button.
If it gets infected, I'm sure you can still have children.
Though, if your mom says no, just let it be. Don't try and pester her into letting you do it. I only had to ask once and my mom said yes.

Well i got mine done before.. it got infected and was very painful.. I tought it was a little sore getting it pierced but many others didnt.. When it became infected a buble grew on the side and i had to take it out.. I recently just got it re-pierced and its grand.. Dont mind that rumour its not true!.. I would just ask ur mam b4 u get it done.. ask her to go with you.. If your piercing does start to get infected i reccomend clean it with savalon.. or warm water mixed with salt!.. Just keep your fingers away from it and it wont get infected.. Good luck!!!..

If you get a belly ring you cannot wear it when you cheer. :^( So you better be cool with taking it out often.
