very unique indeed! (above the rest i believe)
My last name so far is the only one in the Province since my other family members live else where from my current residence.
The funny thing is most Caucasians think that my last name is a French name, Asians( Chinese, Viet, etc.(not Japan or India) think its from their countries and therefore think I'm one of them until they meet me. What strikes them the most is that they believe the my last name had been chosen after food (noodles) so they wonder why. But it all then makes a bit sense when we meet. I have friends from all over the world here in Canada so its neat to here all kinds of assumptions and all about my last name (Nuoi).
P.S. I know what Shayna means (in Arabic anyway)

I have a very unusual name, though it is not unique, as I was named after someone. I have googled my name and only one other person comes up--all other references are to me. I have also looked up my name in the white pages with no city or state and one other person comes up as well. Throughout my life, I have met two others with my name, and read of one other woman with my name, so that's only about 7 people that I have heard of with my name. People always say when I introduce myself that I am the first person they have ever met with my name. However, a book published in the past two years, by a well-known author includes a character with my name, so the name may not be unusual for too much longer.

I'm living on an island-nation of approximately less than 5 million people! The phone line's not registered under my name but I think I am the only one with the initials "SLAS"! :)

Yes, I do. My surname. There's only one person that's not related to me with my name in the phone book. I guess we're special! You know what's fun? Google your name, and see how many matches come up with your name, it's kind of fun.

I do. I am one of two people in my country with my name. Of course, the other person does not have my middle name, so I guess that means I am the only one with my name. :)

My middle name is. The only other person I know who has it is my daughter (my father made it up). My last name isn't all that common either..at least not locally.
