I got an email from eBay (appears to be a real one not a spoof) that said one of my listings was removed because they thought it was listed by a third party. I cannot get into my ebay account now. In the email it said to go into the security center and it would give me step by step how to restore my account. I sent a request to change the password, it said it was going to be sent to my email but nothing happened, this was last night. What do I do??

I did not respond to any of the emails. They told me to go to ebay.com and go to the security center. They did refer to me by my real name and screen name in the email though..so I don't think they're fake.

Contact Ebay - either by Email or by phone and explain to them what has happened and let them fix it for you.

You didn't respond to this email did you? I have had numerous spoof emails purporting to be from Ebay. Ebay will always identify you with your Ebay username. They also advise that you never go to their site via emails. Always use your browser. I would go on to the ebay site, sign in and then ask to change your password. NEVER respond to links in so-called ebay emails. If you have not responded to the emails and you live in the US then I would suggest you ring Ebay to sort out your account. If you live outside the US then contact Ebay online for help. I have done this before and they are very helpful.

Go to the ebay site. On the homepage, just under the Powered by Sun logo on the upper right side of the page, click on the "Live Help" link just below that logo.

A customer service rep will help you regain your account.

This is becoming a real problem with many accounts, mainly because passwords aren't very strong.. use a good real password.

Have fun. Ebay has become so big that I've said 'Fair Well' and wont ever use them again. Between their questionable ownership of Paypal and their lousy treatment of the common people that made them billions, they've clearly blown their own self-importance out of proportion.
