I don't fish but I don't think it is boring. I live near a lake and they have some kind of bass fishing competition so it is exciting for some.

Yuh extremely boring i mean who finds sitting by a lake waiting for a fish to come along crikey it would be quicker to go to the shop and buy a fish ^^;

I didn't think I'd like it, but I did! Not so boring if you go with someone and I caught fish. It was actually fun.

(*laughter*) I used to. My father would anchor in one spot for HOURS on end, and you stayed there without saying a word whether there were any bites or not.

Now, I don't think I go to catch fish as much as I go to enjoy the peace and quiet. In some ways, I don't want to catch anything...other than some time on the water doing nothing.

Not at all. I go fishing when I just want to sit and comtemplate Life, The Universe and Everything. I don't necessarily NEED to catch any fish - just sit and watch the world goes by.

I'd rather be circumcised with a dull knife by a blind man while I was wearing a pair of Rosie O'Donnells used underwear as a ski mask. Then go fishing.

Yes, that's why I don't fish. Instead, I leap into the water and chase down the fish, then capture them with my bare hands and drag them to the shore as they flail about.

Sitting or standing there waiting for a bite is boring, but its more about the experience...... being at one with nature, catching your own supper and living in the moment.
