I think what he really meant was that if everyone sent him a $1000, it would work miracles in HIS life. I have no patience for televangelists that beg for money. At the least, it's not Biblical and at worst, it's an attempt to use God for worldly gain.
If God wants him to have the money, He'll provide it so Rev. Tilton shouldn't have to beg for it. If he doesn't get the money, he isn't supposed to have it.
Edit: Thumbs up to i-see's answer

If you want to see a miracle, give your $1000 to the family living under the bridge.
Ain't it sweet, the religion of money.
Reality check - If you have the money to give and you don't, you need to spend a month with the family under the bridge. If you don't have the money and are just shooting off your mouth, you still need to spend a month with the folks under the bridge. Think about it !
Let the wise @ss on TV pay for his or her own sat. feed. You give yours where it can help the most. Religious or not , you will know where to share if you have something to share.

Don't do it, then.
Robert T is a fake and a thief. There are dishonest people in all religions. TV evangelists are notorious for getting money out of naive people.
I think you knew that already, though.

To be on the safe side, why not give it a try and see if it works. You should hate to guess wrong about this guy and risk everlasting hell. If it doesn't work, you only lose $1,000 to each such quack.

TV evangelists need money to preach the gospel
yet it has nothing to do with paying to get a miracle-salvation is a free gift and so is healing and other miracles.
this is how I came to the greatest miracle for free=this is how I as a Jew came to know Jesus personally
"Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and he will be the mighty God, and the prince of peace." Isaiah 9:6
the answer is still in the salvation of the soul-till then we are on the outside looking in. Revelation 22 "Do not add to my word or take from it or you will get plagues, and never find salvation."
this is how I got salvation-believing the Word of God="I love you, and ask you to repent of your sins (even one lie) quickly. Behold I stand at your heart door and knock if you hear my words and ask me in, I will come in and be your friend." Revelation 1:1=Jesus words spoken from heaven & 3:19&20
so i prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen."
Now Jesus is my Messiah, best friend, and savior, he comforts and keeps me, and His word has become the love letter of my life in Spirit and in truth.
Praying the best for you too, David

Robert Tilton has lost much of his fortune so now instead of asking for $100.00 He asks for $1,000.00.

He's a scammer. I don't even believe in god. Anyway, if you believe him, then you have something wrong with you (no offence though). Also, NEVER believe anything that seems too good to be true on TV. Because it is.

Or guys who burst into unintelligible speech for no reason.
He never talks about the Gospel, so what "ministry" are you giving to?
Dont believe him or any other 'prosperity ' preacher. All they want is your money!
