Martin,
the lead wire connecting the degaussing varistor has probably broken loose. You can resolder it, unless it is the type which is enclosed in a plastic rectangular box, which has point contacts. Be careful not to apply too much heat, the disk will crack. The rectangular box type, try tapping it with the butt end of a screw driver. If this doesn't work, you will need to replace it. Sometimes it will.....other times (appears when warm) it can be the shadow mask heating up and warping. If it appears after the TV is on for a few minutes it's warping.....
Turning down the contrast will reduce/eliminate warping due to extreme temperature differences with White Video right against Black Video...that's where warping can occur, mostly seen on the white video.
The jumping.....that would only occur on an LCD TV set and may be due to a loose ribbon cable or LVDS cable.....or the Video processor...That would require service by a TV tech....
I don't know WHICH TV you have but good luck....

have you got any speakers or a stereo by the TV because i had this and when i move them away from the TV it went!
try this if not time to get a new 1 i think

Possibly, or it may be your de-gaussing relay circuit is naff. I remember watching Nottingham Forest in blue playing on a pink pitch when mine went on the wonk once.
