First of all any Illegal Immigrants need to go home back to thier country weather they learned the language or not. If they want to live in the USA they need to learn the language and attempt to intigrate into american society.
Immigrants even legal ones who refuse to learn the language should also go home as it shows that they really have no real wish to remain in the USA except to mooch off of the american people.
As for Emigrating to another country. I have. I just recently moved to Denmark and I am in the process of learning Danish and the Danish Culture and attempting to intigrate into thier society as quickly as possible

It depends on a few things. Some people are more apt to learning another language, others have a really hard time. Some people are embarrassed because they have an accent and other people make fun of them. I personally would try to learn the language if I were to reside in that country but I am one of the lucky few that went to a bilingual school. I speak Spanish fluently but feel much more comfortable speaking English. I dream in English! You have to be in that position to understand, I suppose. Imagine that you have to go live in Japan, doesn't Japanese sound complicated to the Western ear? To some, English sounds just as complicated as German. If the United States really wanted immigrants to learn English, companies wouldn't have phone menus that say press 1 for English and 2 for Español.

There are legal ones who do not speak English. Go to China town or little Italy. That is fine, they vote and take part in the culture there way. The main reason to learn/speak English is to be successful and to succeed here one must learn the language. English is the language of Commerce. The illegals will be a drain on our resources and will be taken advantaged of. Getting angry does nothing. Our government messed up by not doing anything about this problem for years. We need to fix the mess. Blaming the victim dose not help. I'M angry/upset at the Congress for doing nothing. Peace

If they just want to sit around all day and not mix with anyone, then if they learn English or nor is their business. If they are driving, taking jobs and out and about then they should at least give it a good effort to learn.I live part-time in a non-English speaking country. I really am trying to learnthe language(Hungarian) I know it is hard to learn new things but you have to try. I am also not taking anyones job away over here in fact I am spending hard earned US dollars.I know it is important to know the language of the land if you don't want to be taken advantage of.

Lazy and disrespectful. If they love this country as much as they say they do, the least they could do is TRY to assimilate to our culture, not us having to bend over backwards just to accomodate them when they're the ones who shouldn't be here.
EDIT: Would I go out of the way to learn the local language of whatever non-English-speaking country I emigrate to? YES! On top of that, I would try to learn as many ins and outs of their culture as much as I could. What is acceptable? What is a taboo? How could I move to another country without learning these things first?

First off the word illegal is someone broke the laws we have. The amnesty bill was defeated by the will of the USA citizens,
So if learning English is your main concern think.Enforcement of our laws apprehend & deport. Close the borders. They had a choice come here legally an obay our laws. That was not there choice.

Did English speaking "immigrants" learn the language of the native Americans? The language issue is nothing more than latent bigotry.

A country is only as good as its citizens,if they come over here illegally,do not attempt to assimulate,do not attempt to learn the language and disregard the laws of our land, they are bringing us down to a third world country,we the citizens deserve better.

I think they do not want to become Americans. They are here for money only. This is the number one reason that they are despised.
I see many posts from illegals and pro-illegals asking why people are against them.
Failure to try and learn our language, and demanding we accommodate theirs is the main reason.
